How We Built a Self-Custody Wallet To Power The Next Gen Of Finance

When we joined the crypto space, we were excited by the promise of decentralisation and financial freedom. But over time, we noticed a glaring gap: while blockchain technology was advancing rapidly, the ability to use crypto in everyday life remained limited. For many, especially in regions with limited access to crypto to fiat conversion, digital assets felt more like speculative instruments than practical tools.

This realisation sparked our mission: to build a self-custody wallet that empowers users to seamlessly bridge the on-chain and off-chain worlds. Today, we’re thrilled to share what we’ve been working on—a wallet designed to make crypto truly usable for everyone.

The Vision

We didn’t just want to build another wallet. We wanted to solve a real problem. Despite the growth of blockchain technology, the inability to use crypto for everyday payments has been a persistent barrier to adoption. Our vision is clear: create a wallet that not only stores and manages digital assets but also enables users to spend them effortlessly in their daily lives.

The Build

This project was a true collaboration, with each of us bringing our unique skills to the table:

• Blockchain & Backend: Ridwan led the charge on the wallet’s core infrastructure, integrating support for seven blockchains and enabling features like send, receive, token swaps, gas-less transactions, real-time notification and more.
• Frontend: Joseph focused on crafting an intuitive and fast interface, ensuring that both crypto enthusiasts and newcomers could navigate the app with ease.
• Design: Ebenezer’s design expertise ensured the wallet wasn’t just functional but also visually appealing and user-friendly, making advanced features accessible to all.

Together, we combined our strengths to create a product that’s as robust as it is easy to use.
